Jobber drill bits are the most common type of drills used in relatively soft materials such as wood, composite or soft metals. The term “Jobber” historically refers to the general-purpose use of the drill bits but is now used to refer to the length of the drill itself which is longer, normally 9-14 times its diameter. Jobber drill bits are made from different materials such as cobalt, HSS, and carbide and are available in different sizes.
