Fuses are electrical devices that protect appliances and wires from overcurrent. Fuses have a thin wire which melts due to excessive current flow, thus stopping the flow of electrical current and protecting electrical devices in the system. Fuses are available in various standard ampere ratings and should be selected at a higher rating than the appliance requirement. Crimps are used to end electrical wires with screw terminals, blade terminals, or ring/spade terminals for various electrical connections.
