O-rings are loops of elastomers with a round cross-section designed to provide a seal between two adjoining parts in static or dynamic applications. O-rings are typically made of synthetic rubbers such as Nitrile rubber (Buna-N), Butyl rubber (IIR), silicone rubber, and styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR), among others. Aside from size and cost, chemical compatibility, application temperature, sealing pressure, lubrication requirements, should be considered when selecting O-rings.
