ABOUT THIS CATEGORY

Retaining compounds are adhesives used to hold various cylindrical components into another. Aside from bonding, they are also used to fill void spaces between parts to achieve maximum load transmission and uniform load distribution. Similarly, these retainers protect parts from corrosion and accelerated wear by eliminating fretting. Retaining compounds are the accepted standard method for non-threaded press and slip parts assembly. Retaining compounds are commonly used for installing bearings to housings and shafts, attaching pulleys and gears onto shafts, and holding cylinder liners, among other industrial applications.
