ABOUT THIS CATEGORY

Gate valves, also known as sluice valves, are the most common valves used in a process plant. They are linear motion valves that lift a barrier to allow fluid to flow. Rather than to regulate flow, gate valves are normally used to completely shut off the flow or to provide full flow in the system since partial opening of the valve may result in vibrations. Gate valves come in threaded and flanged variants for convenient connectivity and are made from several ferrous metals to meet varying process requirements.
