ABOUT THIS CATEGORY

Turnbuckles, also known as stretching screws, are pieces of hardware that consist of an open body, left-hand threaded end fitting, and a right-hand threaded end fitting. Their screws normally have eyes, jaws, or hooks end fittings for connecting to the end of a rope, chain, wire, or pad eyes. Unlike rigging screws, turnbuckles have a greater ability to be tightened under load due to their frame profile. Turnbuckles are generally used in length adjustment and tensioning of cables and wires in various applications in shipping, construction, outdoors, aircraft, sports, and piping systems, among others.
