About Metric Coarse

• The angle of the thread is 60 degrees.
• The crest is flat and the thread has clearance at the root allowing the external thread and internal thread to engage well.
• A larger root radius and lower thread height enable easy screw thread processing and increase thread screw strength.
• The major diameter of external thread and pitch is specified by a simple numerical value (most commonly measured in millimeters).

About Intermidiate Taps

• Have a lead of four threads and are used in most general purpose applications to cut a thread true to a pre-drilled pilot hole.

About Machining of Stainless Steel

• The machining of stainless steel is difficult due to its work hardening properties toughness and poor thermal conductivity which places high demands on the cutting tools.

About Blue Band Series

• The Blue Band Series has been specifically designed to suit these difficult machining requirements.
• Blue band taps are manufactured from HSSE-V3 and are TiAlN coated.
• Blue Band Tapping Drills are manufactured from HSS-Co and TiAlN coated. TiAlN coating increases tool surface hardness to 87Rc.
• For machining materials with Hardness < 350 HB: Tensile Strength <1250 N/ mm2.
