Taper lock bushings, also called as taper lock (taperlock) bushes or taper fit bushes, are power transmision locking mechanisms that allow a driven device, such as a pulley, sprocket or sheave, to be locked onto shaft. The split and tapered design provides a powerful clamp fit whilst being easy to install and dismantle, thus saving on machining costs and avoiding delays. Taper lock bushes are available in cast iron and in stainless steel and in a range of imperial and metric bore sizes.
