Structural hex nuts also called heavy hex nuts are generally thicker and wider than regular hex nut used in structural joints. These bolts are normally made from grade 8 steel that can withstand higher stress loads. Heavy hex nuts may come in black finish that has mild corrosion resistance and used in dry environments, or hot-dip galvanized finish that has a thick coating for good resistance to corrosion. Structural hex nuts are available in various diameter sizes.
