PolyChain, or Poly Chain® Belts are a trademarked belt designed by Gates Corporation constructed from durable polyureathane, reinforced with carbon fibre tensile cords, to create one of the strongest belts available. Poly Chain® belts are commonly used to replace steel chain in heavy duty applications and are also sometimes used in motorcycles and pushbikes. Poly Chain® has a unique curvilinear tooth profile which needs to be fitted with the appropriate Gates Poly Chain® pulley. Their build makes them ideal for high torque applications as well as for wet applications, like slurry pumps, since they are non-reactive to chemicals, acids and water. Adapting PolyChain belts over traditional V-belts saves energy, reduces maintenance and downtime, and reduces weight and overhung loads.
