Tapping Collets

Collets are conical sleeves with an inner cylindrical surface that form a collar around tool pieces to hold them. The inner surface of collets contracts to securely hold tool pieces in place. This clamping action may be achieved using a spring collet with kerfs cut along its length to allow it to contract or expand, or by tapered steel blocks held by a flexible binding medium such as rubber. Tapping collets are available in different sizes.
