Gates PowerGrip GT3 Synchronous Belt
Reduce both acquisition costs and transaction costs by designing with PowerGrip GT3. The PowerGrip GT3 belt has two times the rating of competitive RPP belts, and its predecessors PowerGrip GT and HTD belts. PowerGrip GT3 drive systems offer the largest selection of belts and sprockets in the industry. At reduced widths, PowerGrip GT3 belts can be used as a direct replacement for most 8mm and 14mm pitch standard rubber RPP and HTD synchronous belts.
Specifications
- Pitch (mm): 14
- Number of Teeth: 185
- Top Belt Width (mm): 85
- Length (mm): 2590

- Fabric Cover: Nylon
Markets/Applications
PowerGrip GT3 belts are suitable for many applications such as HVAC, textile, printing, machine tools, food processing, conveyors, packaging, agriculture, pumps, compressors, centrifuges, laundry, pulp and paper.
Features/Advantages
- Fiberglass tensile cord provides high strength, excellent flex life, and high resistance to elongation
- Neoprene body provides protection against grime, grease, oil, and moisture
- Nylon tooth facing provides a durable wear surface for long service life
- Thirty percent increase in horsepower ratings, as compared to traditional timing belts
- Eliminates lubrication and re-tensioning to reduce maintenance and labor
- Gates patented tooth profile is designed for use with a specific sprocket groove profile
- The sprocket groove-belt tooth combination increases capacity, while improving registration
- PowerGrip GT3 has more tooth ratchet resistance than HTD
- Eliminates lubrication and re-tensioning reduce maintenace and labor as compared to roller chain drives.
- PowerGrip GT3 ACHE belts are available in 14mm pitch. A single twist cord helps prevent the belt from moving downward on vertical shaft ACHE applications.
Recommended Sprockets
***Note: 8M and 14M PowerGrip GT3 belts are conducive in accordance with ISO 9563. When belt drive systems are located in potentially hazardous environments, safe and reliable dissipation of electrostatic charges is critical - a secondary means of dissipation such as static grounding brushes is recommended.
