Flint lighters, also known as flint spark lighters, spark lighters, or strikers, are devices used to start an oxy-fuel flame. These spark lighters consist of flints that are typically made from ferrocerium that when rapidly stricken, produces hot sparks reaching temperatures of up to 3,000 degrees Celsius. Flint lighters are commonly used to light Bunsen burners and propane torches in metal fabrication, laboratory works, HVAC, and automotive repairs among others.
