Combination wrenches, also called combination spanners or open-ring spanners, are usually double-ended wrenches with an open profile in one end and a ring spanner on the other. Both ends usually have the same size but the open-ended head is usually used for starting and for final tightening of fasteners, while the ring head is used the remaining of the way. The ring head in a combination spanner may be ratcheted, non-ratcheted, or flexible.
