Retaining Ring Pliers

Circlip pliers, also known as retaining ring pliers, snap ring pliers, or C-clip pliers, are designed for removing circlips, a type of a fastener or retaining ring. Retaining ring pliers have a specially formed tip that fits through the holes of circlips, also called retaining rings, for easy installation or removal. External circlip pliers are used for circlips that fit outside or onto a shaft while internal circlip pliers are used for retaining rings are fitted inside a shaft or bore. Adjustable circlip pliers on the other hand can shift between internal and external circlip use. Other available types of snap ring pliers include the interchangeable tip and the bent tip or angled tip circlip pliers.
