The Sutton T791 is a spiral flute tap (R15 spiral, Ti designation) for UNJF threads, made from powder metallurgy, 8% cobalt high speed steel (PM-HSS Co) with a TiCN coating. This listing covers 4 sizes from 1/4 x 28 TPI to 1/2 x 13 TPI.
The 15° right-hand spiral flute suits blind holes in tough, short chipping materials, up to 1.5 x D in depth. The slow helix does not transport chips well, so it has no advantage in soft or long chipping materials, especially deeper than 1.5 x d1.
The tap is built to DIN 2184-1.
