Sutton H1820180 18mm Annular Cutter - M2 HSS TiAlN, 75mm Cutting Depth

The Sutton H182 annular cutter (core drill) cuts holes from 18 mm to 32 mm in diameter to a cutting depth of 75 mm in a magnetic base drilling machine. It is made from M2 high speed steel (HSS) with a TiAlN coating and a 3/4" (19.05 mm) universal shank, and is used on steel, stainless steel and other ferrous metals, as well as aluminium and other non-ferrous metals.

An annular cutter removes a ring of material and leaves a solid slug, so it removes less material than a twist drill cutting the same hole. The M2 HSS is designed to give a combination of strength, heat and wear resistance. The TiAlN coating is designed to increase surface hardness and to reduce heat and friction during cutting, for longer tool life. The universal shank is designed to fit magnetic base drilling machines. Each cutter works with the H1820063 pilot pin (7.98 x 130 mm).

Each size is a single cutter with a 75 mm cutting depth. The pilot pin is ordered separately.

Using the cutters

• Use the cutter in a magnetic base drilling machine, with the H1820063 pilot pin fitted.
• Set the machine up on clean, flat steel so the magnet holds firmly.
• Keep the material thickness within the 75 mm cutting depth.
• Replace a worn or bent pilot pin before it affects hole position.
