• These are also known as SHIP AUGERS. Hardened to increase bit life.
• Despite a hardness of 57-58 Rockwell C, augers can be sharpened with a needle, diamond file or mounted point.
• Ideal for use in HARDWOOD applications such as telephone poles, timber bridges & pest control applications.
• Ship Augers have an extra cutting edge turning backwards from the leading edge to clear & size the hole.
• The absence of a cutting wing offers easier drilling through hardwood.
