Height Safety Equipment

AIMS Industrial offers over 100 height safety products from Austlift and B-Safe — covering full-body harnesses, anchor straps, flat bar anchors, temporary horizontal anchorage lines, fall arrest lanyards, self-retracting lifelines (SRLs), rescue and retrieval systems, and karabiners and connecting hardware. Harnesses

• Austlift Maxi Harness Rigger — Austlift full-body harness compliant with AS/NZS 1891.1. Dorsal D-ring for fall arrest, front D-ring for work positioning. Adjustable for a range of body sizes. Suited to construction, maintenance and confined space entry applications.
• B-Safe Full Body Harness — Front Fall Arrest Points — full-body harness with front and dorsal fall arrest points for applications requiring frontal arrest attachment — tower climbing, vertical access and rope access work.

Anchor Points & Straps

• Austlift Flat Bar Anchor 15 kN — Galvanised Steel — galvanised steel flat bar anchor rated to 15 kN for attaching fall arrest systems to structural steel beams and purlins. Installed over beam flanges without drilling or permanent attachment.
• Austlift Interlocking & Reinforced Webbing Anchor Strap — reinforced webbing anchor strap for wrapping around structural steel, concrete columns and pipe — where flat bar anchor installation is not possible.

Lanyards & Self-Retracting Lifelines

• Austlift Single Elasticated Lanyard — Triple Action Hook, Tubular Webbing — energy-absorbing elasticated lanyard limiting fall arrest force to 6 kN as per AS/NZS 1891.1. Elasticated webbing reduces the deployed length and the risk of trip hazards during work positioning.
• Austlift Single Webbing Lanyard with Snap Hook — 1.8m — standard 1.8m webbing lanyard with snap hook for general fall arrest. Non-elasticated; used where a fixed-length connection is preferred.
• Austlift Inertia Reel Retractable Mini Block — 2.5m — self-retracting lifeline (SRL) / mini block for short-range fall arrest. Arrests a fall within the first 300mm of free fall — significantly reducing fall distance and arrest forces compared to a fixed-length lanyard. Suited to mobile elevated work platforms (MEWPs) and restricted headroom applications.

Horizontal Anchorage Lines & Rescue Systems

• Austlift Temporary Anchorage Line (Horizontal Lifeline) — temporary horizontal lifeline system connecting multiple workers to a single engineered anchorage line, allowing movement along a structural beam or roof without detaching and reattaching at each anchor point. Requires design by a competent person under AS/NZS 1891.2.

Karabiners & Connecting Hardware

• Austlift Karabiner — Steel, Quarter Turn Locking — steel karabiner with quarter-turn locking gate for connecting lanyards to anchor points and harness D-rings. AS/NZS 1891.4 rated.
• Austlift Karabiner — Steel, Triple Action Gate, 21.5mm, Captive Pin — triple-action locking karabiner requiring three sequential actions to open — reduces risk of accidental gate opening in high-vibration or dynamic loading environments.

Height Safety Compliance in Australia

• AS/NZS 1891 Series: All fall arrest equipment used in Australian workplaces must comply with AS/NZS 1891 — harnesses (1891.1), horizontal lifelines (1891.2), fall arrest devices (1891.3) and connectors (1891.4).
• Competent Person Requirement: Under AS/NZS 1891 and WHS Regulations, height safety systems must be designed and installed by a competent person. AIMS Industrial supplies the equipment — consult a height safety engineer or rigging engineer for system design.
• Inspection & Retirement: All fall arrest equipment must be inspected before each use and formally inspected by a competent person at least annually. Any equipment that has arrested a fall must be withdrawn from service immediately and retired.
• Rescue Planning: Working at height requires a documented rescue plan before work commences. Austlift rescue and retrieval systems support both self-rescue and assisted rescue scenarios.
