Choosing an anti-slip solution
Start with where the slip risk is. Stair edges suit nosings, ladders suit rung covers, ramps and transitions suit plates or angled plates, and whole floor areas suit a coating. Tape and strips fit smaller or irregular places. Colour helps people see the edge, so higher visibility yellow, green or red nosings and tapes do two jobs at once. Tactile indicators are a different product: they give a touch and visual cue at changes in level or direction, and the requirements for where they are needed come from the building and access rules for your site.

What should I use on stair edges?
A stair nosing. We list Advance nosings in safety yellow, nano green and red, and Brady SafeLine nosings. The colour helps people see the edge as well as grip it.
Will anti-slip tape stick to a wet or oily surface?
No. Tape needs a clean, dry surface to bond. For permanently wet or oily areas, consider a mechanically fixed plate or a floor coating instead, and check the data sheet.
What are tactile indicators for?
They give a touch and visual cue at changes in level or direction. Where they are needed depends on the building and access requirements for your site, so check those before ordering. We list Brady Polypad and PolyTile indicators.
