Air compressors are commonly electrically driven devices that provide pressurized air to power various pneumatic tools. These gas compressors reduce the volume occupied by air to build up the pressure. They accomplish this by forcing air into a tank until it reaches its rated pressure limit. The compressed air is held in the tank until they are used to supply pressurized air to fill tires, drive pneumatic tools such as jackhammers, and operate other commercial and industrial devices.
