CRC Trefolex HD Cutting Fluid 500ml

CRC Trefolex HD Cutting Fluid is described in CRC's technical data sheet as a heavy-duty cutting fluid designed for severe applications. It contains extreme pressure additives and forms a homogenous, tenacious lubricating film.

It is applied directly to the cutting operation. CRC lists it for tapping, threading, drilling, sawing, shearing, turning and reaming, including on stainless steel, carbon steel, Inconel, Monel, Hastelloy, titanium and aluminium.

The film is a lubricating oil, and CRC lists the dry time as immediate use.

Store in a cool, dry, well ventilated area away from incompatible materials, heat or ignition sources and foodstuffs.

Limits and safety

SDS classification: not classified as hazardous under Safe Work Australia criteria, with no signal word. It is Class C2 combustible, with a flash point of 212.78 °C (closed cup) and is not dangerous goods. CRC's technical data sheet carries these warnings: 'Causes serious eye irritation', 'Causes mild skin irritation', 'Harmful to aquatic life with long lasting effects' and 'Avoid release to the environment'. CRC's technical data sheet gives the signal word Warning. SDS section 11 also states 'Methyl salicylate is suspected of damaging the unborn child' and that the product contains an ingredient known to cause skin and respiratory sensitisation at levels below classification. The SDS lists oxidising agents (for example hypochlorites) and acids (for example nitric acid) as incompatible. Read the safety data sheet before use.
