Selecting the right option
For new and well-kept cars CRC recommends Re-Po Auto Cream Polish 250g instead of this product. For heavily weathered layers of paint, old waxes, tar and scratches CRC lists Re-Po Cutting Compound 300g as a separate product.
Using it
CRC's directions: wash and dry the vehicle with a chamois. Work one section at a time, folding a soft, open-weave cotton cloth into a pad. Rub firmly to loosen oxidised paint and road film. Swap to a clean cloth if it clogs with perished pigment and dirt.
Let it dry to a light, powdery haze, then buff off in circles with a soft, clean cloth. To maintain the finish, follow with Re-Po Cream Polish or another CRC vehicle grooming product.
Do not apply to hot surfaces or in direct sunlight. Keep the tin airtight. CRC publishes no abrasive grade or cut rating for this product.
Storage and handling
Store in a cool, dry, well ventilated area, away from incompatible substances, heat or ignition sources and foodstuffs. Keep containers labelled, protected from physical damage and sealed when not in use.
Limits and safety
CRC points new and well-kept cars to Re-Po Cream Polish rather than this product, and describes this one for automotive paintwork. The SDS does not classify it as hazardous, but section 11 says it may be harmful if swallowed, in contact with skin or if inhaled, and it contains crystalline silica (tripoli) under 10%. The SDS lists splash-proof goggles and PVC or rubber gloves; a respirator is not required under normal conditions of use. Incompatible with oxidising agents (for example hypochlorites) and acids (for example nitric acid). Read the safety data sheet before use.
