Choosing an O-ring or kit
O-rings are specified by inside diameter and cross-section, so measure the old seal if you can, in millimetres or inches, and check which system your equipment uses. Metric and imperial sizes can look alike but are not interchangeable. Then choose the material for the fluid and temperature: the kits listed here are nitrile (NBR, shore 70) or Viton, and the high pressure kit is 90 shore. The material for GJ Works kits is given on the data sheet.
A kit suits maintenance and repair work where sizes vary, while a single size bought individually or from a refill pack suits a repeat job. A splicing kit lets you cut a length of cord and join it to size when no moulded ring is available.
