The Bossweld 5% Silver Brazing Alloy is a self-fluxing copper-phosphorus brazing rod with 5% silver, for copper-to-copper joints. The silver content improves flow and capillary action, so it fills close-fitting joints well.

It brazes at around 860 degrees Celsius, which allows controlled heat input and fusion, and it gives high-strength joints. It is self-fluxing on copper-to-copper joints, but flux is required when brazing brass. It comes in 2.4 and 3.2 mm diameters, in 1 kg packs.

Selecting the right option

Choose the diameter to suit the joint and the heat you are working with. Use flux if you are brazing brass. Brazing and soldering fumes can be harmful, so work with good ventilation or fume extraction and check the safety data sheet for the exact composition.
