• Formed threads have a smoother surface finish and greater tensile strength under dynamic stress than cut threads.
• It is essential to use a high quality lubricating fluid when using fluteless taps.
• Materials with a minimum elongation of 5% and a tensile strength no greater than 1,000 M/mm² are suitable for thread forming.
• Fluteless taps use different tapping drill sizes than thread cutting taps!
• For machining materials with Hardness < 200 HB: Tensile Strength <700 N/mm².
