Roller chain carries power between sprockets in conveyors, agricultural machinery, drives and general plant. AIMS Industrial supplies BS and ASA roller chain, mainly from KCM and SY Chain, with Agri-Power quad rivet chain and ECO agricultural chain for farm machinery. Chain is sold in boxed lengths, typically 10 ft, with 50 and 100 ft boxes listed for some sizes. Connecting and offset links are in the separate roller chain links range.

Choosing roller chain
Start with the chain number already on the drive, for example 08B (BS) or 40, 50 or 60 (ASA), because the chain has to match the sprocket pitch and series. BS and ASA chain are not interchangeable, and the number of strands (simplex, duplex, triplex) has to match the sprockets as well. Then choose the construction for the job: standard chain for general drives, H-Type, HE-Type or the heavy series where loads are higher, stainless, nickel plated or Aqua-Proof where water or corrosion is a problem, and Self-Lube or X-Ring chain where regular lubrication is hard to carry out.
Order a connecting link for a chain with an even number of links, and an offset link (half link) where the chain has an odd number. See roller chain links for the full link range.

Roller chain FAQs
What is the difference between BS and ASA roller chain?
They are different series with different size numbering. In our range BS chain is listed in sizes such as 05B, 08B and 16B, and ASA chain in sizes such as 40, 60 and 80. They are not interchangeable, so match the series to your sprockets.
What do simplex, duplex and triplex mean?
They describe the number of strands of chain: one, two or three. Quad chain has four. The sprockets must have the same number of strands as the chain.
What is the difference between a connecting link and an offset link?
A connecting link (full link) joins the two ends of a chain with an even number of links. An offset link (half link) is used where the chain needs an odd number of links. See roller chain links.
Which roller chain suits wet or corrosive areas?
The range includes stainless steel, nickel plated and SY Aqua-Proof chain. Check the data sheet for the grade and the conditions it suits before choosing.
Do you have roller chain that needs less lubrication?
Yes. KCM and SY Self-Lube chain is listed in ASA sizes, SY Self-Lube in BS sizes, and KCM X-Ring chain in BS sizes 08B to 16B.
What is double pitch roller chain?
