This AAP general purpose brass ball valve has a plastic-coated stainless steel lever and female threaded ends. It is supplied in 10 sizes from 1/4 in (8 mm) to 4 in (100 mm).
A ball valve turns a ball with a hole through it between sealing seats. When the lever or handle is in line with the pipe the hole lines up with the flow and the valve is open, and a quarter turn closes it. AAP notes that the handle sits in line with the port, so it shows the valve position.
AAP lists it in its general purpose brass ball valve range, for hot and cold water (non-potable), various oils, chemicals and compressed air, with a 150 degrees C maximum working temperature and a cold working pressure of 2,500 kPa (25 bar), all manufacturer-stated. The body and seat retainer are nickel-plated brass, the ball is chromium-plated brass, the seat is PTFE and the stem packing is a double Viton O-ring (manufacturer-stated).
AAP gives the thread as AS 1722.2 (manufacturer-stated). This is a general purpose valve and AAP rates it for non-potable water, so use a dezincification resistant (DR) valve on drinking water supply.

Selecting the right option
Choose the size to match your pipe thread. AAP lists a male x female version for fitting straight into a female port, and a short thread version for tight spaces. This valve is rated for non-potable water, so use a DR valve for drinking water supply.
